    Hey, I'm just kind of curious what everyone does for a living.  No need to get too specific for the sake of privacy.  Oh and if you are retired, what DID you do, or if youre unemployed or are still in school, what do you aspire in doing?

    I'm currently an assistant manager at the corner of  happy and healthy.  =P

    I have a bachelors in business administration emphasis in finance

    Gelax- do you own your own shop or are you a part of a larger bakery?  What do you bake?

    Xeravik what area of finance interested you the most?

    As for me, I worked in a couple of labs; I used to be a cytogenetic technologist.  I then went to a more lucrative job, now I am home with the kids. I still have to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.  :)

    I would say the area of finance that interested/was most useful to me was income taxes.  The amount of laws/rules/statutes/regulations that encompass doing tax returns is crazy.  I was actually part of a volunteer program called VITA (volunteer income tax assistance)  so I actually used a program provided by the IRS to do local peoples tax returns.  I learned a lot in the program, and it helped a lot of people, especially students and low income earners.  Some people are worried they are going to have to pay in, so they dont even bother filing, which is illegal first off, second these same people are probably due hundreds if not thousands of dollars in a refund.  If anyone is still in school and is pursuing something related to business, finance or accounting, i STRONGLY encourage taking a tax class.  It might be a bit difficult, but it is well worth it.

    @Gelax

    I used to manage a deli/bakery at a small grocery store when I was in high school.  I miss those days...I was/still am known for my potato salad in my home town.

    I have actually been in the Security/Risk Management Industry for around 16 years, the last 5-7 more executive roles but I re-injured my knee and require another knee reconstruction, so I took a year off to study and further my qualifications while I prepare for that, so I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment and for the next 3-6 months while I wait for the operation and then rehabilitate, so I can spend a lot of extra time on Pantheon which is really good.

    I have a lot of experience in Team Management, Communication, Risk Management and training in Crisis Management, Hostile Situations/Negotiations and some small arms weapons/tactical training but my specialised field is High Level Risk Management in a Corporate/Executive environment.

    Nothing too special but it pays the bills :)

    Well lets see I was a construction working running heavy equipment putting in water, sewer, phone, cable, and power lines. For these past 6 years I work for the city in the roads/ sewer/ water/ construction divisions. Currently I am in the water department where I help maintain the city water infrastructure by repairing or installing new water lines. I also help test the water to make sure the city has safe drinking water.

    Looks like you could Carrera to help you out Kildjin! But seriously, I am sorry to hear about your knee. That is a very tough joint to recover from. I hope you heal well.

    Carrera - good career choice. 20 years ago I looked briefly at - I wish I knew more about it then. I was happy with my career - but PT really took off!

    We are not huge on guns here in Australia but I did enjoy the Glock 17 as it was the main weapon I carried and from memory it was 9mm hollow tip live street rounds that we used but it was a comfortable gun to use.
