Guess what?! R.A. Salvatore has some NEW Drizzt books. Thought that most nerds that game also love books like Old Forgotten realms stuff and Dragonlance etc.

    https://www.amazon.com/Timeless-Drizzt-Novel-R-Salvatore/dp/0062688596/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1534907290&sr=8-1&keywords=timeless+ra+salvatore

    that is the amazon link.

This is the other link with some more info. These are no longer Forgotten Realms books. I have NO idea where they line up compared to the "old" Drizzt books. (i.e. no idea if these are parallel stories, side stories, continuations of old stories...

it is a PRE ORDER status right now with a Sept 4 2018 release.

Also, if anyone figures out where these books "take place" in the Drizzt world, post a reply (no spoilers please)

I personally dislike his work with a passion.  Even Weiss and hickman seperate are better at building worlds and charectors with some varied human flaws.  Terry goodkind who is a fast read type writer is able to just thrust you threw the books of his with seemless action threw entirity.  Terry Brooks is by far the most masterful of all these writers.  He can develop charectors so well in less then a chapter and their deaths stick with you.  He can weave 4 different story lines and time it so perfect while reading one groups exploits as it starts to slow down you go.. I wonder whats going on with.... then the next page  blam thats where the writing leads to that party.  Salvatory is a man who has been prolific in numbers of works writting but none of them are great.  They are at best average.  Which is a pitty since he is actually still alive and putting input in games like neverwinter where he did a quest line for an expansion. OMG it was horrible from a game design stand point.

Robert Jordan and the Wheel of Time is my fav books, but I still like others as well. Salvatore is great fantasy stuff, sorry you can't appreciate his work. The post was obviously for Drizzt fans.

Thats a + on the Robert Jordan. Have read everything he wrote, even the pornography.

Drizzt I can do without. Had a bad taste for Drizzt ever since I saw 500 variations on 'Drizzt' for character names in original EQ1. Why the F#$% can't people just be original.
