Honestly ty Vandraad for saying it just this way. It got me thinking .. and I'm glad it won't be loaded with stats. I didn't realize how fast things could turn to pay to win and it's nice to see VR taking care of that problem from very early on.
Umbra said:I pledged for it just because it sounds like the title of a dodgy porn movie from the 70's :)
These 1970's porn titles were works of absolute genius! The guys that came up with 'Little Oral Annie' and other masterpieces of film naming were pioneers of the double-entendre, something near and dear to the heart of all Britishers since even before Monty Python!
That aside:
It would be nice if, though cosmetic, it acted as a 'key' to a few designated areas ...
... even if only a 'trophy room' showing a 'monument to the Fallen' listing all pledged supporters!
Or glowed ....
Or if put into a gnome's mouth it caused light to project from the gnome's eyes forming a small holographic image...
... of a young woman in a white hooded dress saying 'Help me, Oh big one gnomey'
or something else entirely....

LoL! And now there will be at least one gnome named "Rtoodeetoo".
I wouldnt put much past the creativity of the devs. Maybe it makes it so that when you are targeted by other players your defensive indicator ring looks different than others, or something completely off the wall like that.
The real question is will it be something that will physically appear on our character? And will it have to be equipped in order to do so? Or is it just something that will collect dust in my bank until years from now I pull it out every once in a while to link it in guild chat to show how long I've been playing the game?
Which also raises the question... do we know if there will be a way to link items in chat?

So has anyone confirmed you can see rings and jewelry equipped on characters for it to be cosmetic?

Is there anything that confirms it's actually a wearable ring? Not a teleportation "ring"? Or a temporary camp? Or something else? i wouldnt go too far into the assumptions yet.

Did you read the post I linked?
Maybe Kilsin will respond.

I did. Nowhere there, nor in the pledge page, does it say that the ring of the fallen is a wearable ring. Only that it's cosmetic with no advantages/stats.
//start pledge effect
r = new RingofFallen();
if (p .HasItem(r)){p.HandEffect += HandofQ():};
//End awesom effect

Thats what I imagined for for pre-nerf illusion perk.
