Flash/Supergirl cross over

Ok geeks, nerds and superhero fans who is faster? Flash can run so fast (at least at his prime) to go back in time or shift between dimensions. Superman in space can travel from Pluto to Earth (about 2.66 billion miles) in a few seconds.

A leg race I would say flash would win as superman said he can't run as fast as flash and not destroy the Earth. Flash can't fly but in at least one comic episode he did have a talisman that made a walkable bridge that he could use in space (I think he had to paint his boots a special color to make it work?). So if both superheroes were able to go their fastest who would win?

Flash had to travel 9.4 million times faster then the speed of light when saving a cities population from a nuclear explosion.

Speed of light = 186,000 miles per second (thats seven times around the equator in a second)

    source - http://www.answers.com/Speed%20of%20light

Total distance flash travelled to bring one set of people to safety - 35 * 2 = 70 miles.

Therefore TOTAL distance travelled is - 70 * 250,000 people = 17,500,000 miles. (assuming he moved two people at once)

Time taken to do that was - 0.00001 microsecond (and 1 microsecond is 1 millionth of a second)

    source - http://www.answers.com/microsecond

    So time in seconds is - 0.00001 / 1,000,000 = 0.00000000001 seconds

So the speed, flash was travelling at was - 17,500,000 / 0.00000000001 = 1750000000000000000 miles per second.

So if the speed of light was 186,000 mile per second.

Flash was travelling at - 1750000000000000000 / 186000 = 9400000000000 times the speed of light.

Which is 9,400,000 million times the speed of light."

So since time stands still when you are traveling at the speed of light (relative to the time around you) once Flash hit the speed of light he really was not going faster he just had more time in which to work. so by your math if it took him a millisecond to save all those people to him it was really:

70 miles travelled each trip = .0000002 seconds per trip (at the speed of light) assuming an estimate of 250k people saved and 2 people each that is .05 seconds to him. Another thing is how does he ensure they don't get killed from the about 1.5million pounds of G's that must exert on the human body lol!

So I guess the answer is whoever can get up to light speed first? (superman going from Pluto to earth in 3 seconds is travelling faster than light (about 4 times faster).

Not to side track the topic but if flash grabbed a human by the waist and ran at that speed to save them, he'd rip them in half.

this reminds me of Big bang theory when SHeldon states the same about Superman saving louis by catching her as she falls out of the building

In the comic where Barry Alan sacrifices himself to save earth he was running towards the speed force

Superman was talking to him as they ran, he stated "I can catch you Barry, we have raced many times before"

To which Barry replied "Yeah, but those times were for charity' and proceeded to leave Sups in the dust

(all this was recalled from memory from a comic book along time ago so is verbatim but you get the gist of the story)

once again an example where Flash was faster then superman when running in the earths atmosphere....
