New graphics cards were revealed today.  We still have to see how they compare in testing.  This is why many of us waited to build a computer...at the very least a price drop on the 1080s should be coming.

    I'll leave these links here:

    I skipped the 1000's generation (my 970 still performs correctly) and i'll make a new pc in 2019 with a 2070 or 2080 to be Pantheon-ready ! :)

Same. I might get a cheap new PC this coming black friday or I will try to wait for one more year and get an awesome PC for Pantheon Alpha/Beta

Thanks - it may be time for an upgrade finally - I've waited and waited because there hasn't been much reason to get a new desktop. Change gets slower every year.

I saw the thread caption 2070 and thought that a release date had been announced for Pantheon. Whew!!!!

Hopefully the Inte/AMD 's new cards will force Nvidia to drop the prices a little.  I would of jumped on the 2080 ti , but the card is worth more than my entire setup with a 1070 currently.

I would not expect VR to support these cards right away, but they certainly look interesting. I have a 1070 and a HoF 1080, and these are supposedly like 6 times the power.

This btw "I saw the thread caption 2070 and thought that a release date had been announced for Pantheon. Whew!!!!" was just too funny :)

I just watched the Nvidia keynote and RTX presentation at Gamescom. This new architecture/technology is a revolution and will change gaming for the next decade! Really amazing possibilities for video games! So stocked!

Some improvements make existing games and equipment work better. Some are irrelevant until games and equipment catch up and take advantage.

I doubt if the Unity people are dropping other things to make their engine work better with cards a limited number of well-heeled people may have but not too many others for a year or two.
