interesting parallel interview

So I was flipping channels on the way to work this morning.

I landed on SiriusXM's Prime Country channel and they were doing an interview with Carrie Underwood.

She just released a new album under her own small label.

She basically said that she started out "very country" but over time, her publishers morphed her music into something more mainstream and popular.  This new venture was her getting back to who she is and she made a very deliberate point to say (paraphrasing) " this won't be as popular as {her popular album name} but I'ts me and I know I've my my people and this is something they will like.  I knew if I made a record I like, then my people would like it too."

And my first thought was how much this sounded like Brad's whole philosophy on his creative product vision.

I'm not a Carrie Underwood fan or anything but it was so cool to hear this in a completely different context.

    That's a great story.

The comparison you made between her feeling like her music was changed to be something more popular and how the game industry has been trying to WoW-ify every mmo for the last decade seems spot on.

Thanks for posting this, I enjoyed the read!

Nope. If Brad could sing, we would have bards already.

You're forgetting my friend, Brad is an anagram for bard. ;)
