[CONDEMNED] A Team-Focused PvP & Raid Guild

    Condemned: www.areyoucondemned.net
    Focus: PvP/Progression Raiding/ Crafting
    North American (EST)
Event Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00 PM to Midnight
    Loot Distribution: DKP

With our eyes poised on the future, Condemned has opened selective recruitment for Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. Our primary focus will be PvP & raiding. However, members can expect a variety of guild events as we aim to be competitive in all areas of the game. We are also placing significant emphasis on crafting, aiming to establish a dedicated core capable of producing the best weapons and armor possible. Our goal for Pantheon is to return to our roots by establishing a smaller, dedicated and tight-knit team. We are excited for the adventures that await in Pantheon and look forward to raising havoc across Terminus.

A successful guild is one in which members are viewed as teammates instead of as separate individuals. In Condemned, a team becomes more than just a collection of members when a strong sense of belonging creates synergy, thus generating a performance greater than the sum of each individual members'.

The greatest benefit of belonging to any team with a purpose is to act with others, for the benefit of others, knowing that the greatest achievements cannot be accomplished without other people.

In Condemned, the strength of our team is dependent upon the strength of our relationships to one another. It is important that as a member of Condemned you build relationships with your teammates so that you know members well enough to recognize when they need your help and support even when they don’t ask for it. Our success as a team is dependent upon the extent to which we function as a team and the strength of this team is based on the relationships we forge with one another.

Good sportsmanship is at the heart of Condemned’s guild values. Our actions are guided by integrity, respect, and honesty. Our members strive to be team oriented and humble.

“Good sportsmanship encompasses many aspects of a man’s character, the most fundamental being respect. The good sportsman respects both his teammates and his opponents as equals. He plays with integrity. A win that does not come fairly holds no satisfaction for him. He is honest in his dealings with opponents, because he treats them the way he wants to be treated. He is unselfish in his desire to see all his teammates participate and enjoy the game. He is humble in his victories, and has the proper perspective on his losses. In short, the qualities that go in to making a good man are the same ones that contribute to being a great sportsman.”-Brett McKay

We are seeking players who share Condemned’s core values:

We place lesser significance on “initial” player skill, instead choosing to focus on attaining members who possess a solid team-based attitude. We are looking for dedicated players who wish to focus on organized and competitive team play -- who place the competitiveness of the guild above the competitiveness of the individualand buy into the notion that the name on the front of the jersey is more important than the one on the back. In prospective members, we find that the humility to learn and constant desire to improve are more preferable to perceived skill.

    Member Contributions:
We strive to incorporate a wide array of skill sets throughout the guild. Not only do we have the traditional positions like raid leader, target caller, primary crafter and class leaders, we also have media specialist, communications specialist and event coordinator positions available. Condemned utilizes merit-based advancement within the guild. Very few positions have a minimal time in guild requirement. Positions are filled by those who demonstrate significant dedication as well as the aptitude needed to excel at said position.

CONDEMNED is comprised of members that have played together for many titles with great success. The majority of our leadership core has played together for the better part of the last decade. Our background is based primarily in MMO tittles from Vanguard: Saga of Heroes to Guild Wars 2. We have achieved many world and server firsts in a multitude of titles while decimating our rivals on the field of battle in PvP.  <> We understand our in-game accomplishments are history, they in no way guarantee future success. Pantheon should provide a more challenging play style many recent titles have lacked. We expect to have to work harder to be competitive in this gaming environment and welcome the challenge.

I have been a member of Condemned for 6 years and played with this group in multiple games. While our PvP and PvE accolades are numerous, the key to our success is due to the dedication and team-focused attitude of our members. If you possess these qualities, feel free to apply. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to meeting you on the battlefield!

I've been a member of Condemned for over 6 years and I feel the same amount of pride in the guild today, as from any of our past games. All the time put in, while not always the most enjoyable -- looking at you GW2 -- has always been worth it in the end.

Looking forward to conquering new guilds and new raids.

Recently joined after a long layoff (MMO dry spell) and couldn't be more excited about the sheer passion and direction of this guild. Will certainly be a home for a long time to come. Let's get that server first list going shall we!

    Excellent post Louden!

My name is Sarvoth, and I have been a proud member of Condemned since mid-2009, so a little over 8 years (if my math is correct..). I remember reading a post, very much like this one, on the AION guild recruitment forum and being drawn immediately to applying for this group.

Prior to Condemned, I was plagued with finding a group I was able to respect and fit in. Why? Well, I have certain standards. Being that prior to Condemned, I ran a decade long PvE oriented guild in a number of successful MMOs, any attempt joining other guilds would usually end up with me leaving due to disagreeing with how leadership in those guilds handled thing. Condemned is the first, and only, gaming organization that I have joined and stayed with since my tenure as leader of my own group.

What did it for me? They aren't joking when they say this group is team focused. Never before have I seen members chipping in for the greater good at the level Condemned does it. Prior, I was so used to greedy players who played in guilds or clans to better attain themselves accolades, loot, and so forth. Condemned is all about the team, and everyone is expected to operate with that mindset. What comes from this is an amazing set of core values and principals that sets this group apart from any other I have personally seen.

Outside of that, the leadership is dedicated, fair, easy to approach, and thoughtful yet decisive in their decisions. Much of the work is divided out to like-minded officers or members so that everything doesn't fall onto one person. These individuals are vetted by their mettle, and their dedication, instead of seniority and who they know, producing quality officers who are in it 110% to better the entire organization.

The recruitment policy at Condemned is also well thought out, yet streamlined, allowing leadership to get a very good idea of the applicant before having them join the ranks. This is not a "cattle call" or "zerg" guild. We take pride in our selection process. We are looking for the applicant to fit our culturue, not just in-game skill. We can teach a player to play, but we can't teach a person with a poor attitude to a better one. For this, you will find quality individuals who match your mindset, bringing a more defined, team oriented and focused culture throughout.

The PvP (and PvE as well) experience this guild has on its belt is incredible. We have not only lead ourselve to guild victories and accolades wherever we go to PvP, but have also fathered successful alliances and help lead coalitions as well. We have proven that quality over quantity works in a PvP setting still, and have an amazing well oiled tactical machine for operating in player versus player operations that has stood the test of time from game to game.

So to get to the point....

If you are interested in a guild that has members who work for the whole, not just the individual, a group that you will join and find yourself staying for many, many years from the friendship and achievements you create together, a guild that prides itself in premier tactical play, achieving world firsts, or server supremcy by earning it the honorable way, a way you can be proud of; a guild that in many ways stands out among the others, then my friend, this one could be the one for you. Like I did, 8 years ago, don't hesitate to apply if what I have said here and the recruitment post above hits a chord with you.

Looking forward to the future of Condemned in Pantheon!

    Good luck!

    -Sarvoth, proudly Condemned

I'm Xe, I also go by Jhazy. I've been an officer in Condemned for a long time. Roughly 6 or 7 years. This guild is one of the reasons I'm still playing games today. The coordination we adhere and progress as a team that we have is always top notch and fun while doing so. I'm very proud of the guild and it's accomplishments and I know that we'll continue to be on track for even more high tier achievements. If you're looking for some amazing play and team coordination and a very strong guild from the past, present, and going into the future, then you should apply today.

I'm a new member of Condemned, but I have a history with the guild as opposition in Rift, and then as leadership in an allied guild in the Titan Alliance for GW2.

I loathed but respected CND in Rift. They seemed to do everything right, and had a leg up on the guild I was in due to their undestanding out of the gate on where and how to achieve the best gear to support their PvP. To make matters worse for me and mine, was that they weren't just a guild relying on gear to do well; they were damn good and coordinated - so that gear was just a force multiplier. Despite that, we were tenacious in our approach and didn't shy away from the fights against CND like some of the other long-time known PvP guilds that were on our faction. Our tenacity and will to fight earned the respect of CND, and we were subsequently invited to work with them as part of the Titan Alliance for Guild Wars 2. It was then that I learned of how calculated and diligent they are in their approach. I discovered that these guys aren't just good and coordinated, but they're an intelligent lot that can't be accused of being hat-racks.

Fast-forward a few years, after since folding the old guild due to real life, I find myself with my wife joining CND for Pantheon and beyond. I'm happy to be a part of it, and I implore those looking for a quality guild to call home, and to be part of a formidable group of players that strive to be (and are) top contenders, to give Condemned a good solid look.

The bar for this game is being set pretty high for it's PvE content, but I'm hoping that the devs know and understand that there will always be a subset of players that want to PvP, regardless of the endlessly repeated phrase of "PvE first". Reading the PvP in Pantheon thread makes for a skeptical outlook on that front as a PvPer. And while I'm excited to tackle the content with Condemned, I don't foresee any game that doesn't have some sort of engaging PvP fully capturing my attention for the long haul. I can only hope that some fellow PvP minded players are/will be playtesting to provide some possible remedies in adding engaging PvP content.
