I have played allot of group MMO's in my day and they do a good job of providing fellowship, and togetherness. But a game that comes to mind that makes you feel like you are in the togetherness from start to finish is Lunar silver star story. Its a single player game but not for a minute do you ever feel like you are alone. Im not really fully able to explain why or what game mechanics do it. But i think Player portraits in dialog is one of them. Another thing i really liked about the game is that all the characters have an audio catch phrase while they are casting a spell, or preforming an ability. it really gives the different characters, and classes a real sense of  personality. much like the skeletons in ever-quest.

Looks like that guy found a clever way to get those kids to mellow out.

That guy's look... and directly at those little children... the monsters must be parents and police.  haha!
