Cant be that shocked when they have said that the Shaman and Direlord are ther only two classes "implemented"
I think the Rouge was next on the list so would expect that one to get the next stream treatment.
you guys should email Microsoft and ask them to take over this game. of course they seem to buying games and studios that actually have something to sell. I think that is why we don't have any real angel investors, when they see what's done, they are like, 'hmm, call me when you actually have something more than a gray boxed idea.'

sorry, I Have to rant. I am getting sick of seeing the same garbage over and over because the game is in a perpetual cycle of "starting over" / never finishing ANYTHING. Things that have been worked on keep getting started over and 7 years later we still don't have one single 100% finished zone.
if i could get my $300 investment back, I would take it and never come back to these boards again. ( i know there are no refunds, ever, for any reason ) but, since I did pay $300, i have the right to come here and complain as much as i want. Alpha will never happen.
i seriously need to delete this site and read about pantheons cancelation on PCgamer in a year or so.

EQ Next was a failure from the get go. Voxels were never manageable yet they kept going down that rabbit hole.
Fact remains you nor anyone else outside of VR knows what is done and what is not done. I've seen some pretty amazing zones via the streams. Just because they chose to only allow access to grey box zones for shakeout testing does not mean that there is not more done.
Not overly exciting, just because we got a pretty good video on the Dire Lord a couple years ago when Cohh played it. They rebooted the game with Project Faerthale though, so we haven't really seen it in its new envisioned state. Probably not massively different, but hopefully we'll see more abilities than just Splatter and something else. When they did this with the Shaman, it was pretty neat, though we didn't see a ton in action. They've said they were going to do highlight videos with each class, and we know right now with the reboot, they only have the two classes implemented with work being done on the Rogue and/or Monk. So, by default this has to be the Dire Lord. They'll get to the other classes when they can get them in the game. They lost two of their core programmers recently, so it might be a bit. We just have to be patient and hope for the best.
I must be viewing a different game from the doom sayers above. What I see is a game progressing nicely. What I see is a plan and an implementation stratergy. What I see is a game that is coming together. The buliding blocks are nearly in place and the decorating can begin. I am a pragmatist and I see this game coming to fruition sooner than later.
Yes it would be nice to have different classes explored, but if you consider that the shammy and dl were the ones in PA5 shakeout, it makes sense to show how they have changed, first. Remember, it was a shakeout and PA5 will start in the not too distant future. This will bring in more and more content and classes.
At the end of PA5 we will be able to judge exactly where PRotF is.
Me, I am excited and ready for more and am looking forward to the stream and what VR have planned.

I understand the need to voice your concern. If I remember correctly, their idea is to flesh out key pieces of the game and then replicate that same process for the rest, ie: starting zones, dungeons, races, classes, etc.
Project Faerthale is an example of a fleshed out starting zone, and they want to make sure they keep that same energy and thought process with the other zones as well. Unlike a few other games where they went really big for one area, and the rest was just thrown together to push the game out.
They are still giving us updates and they are still progressing - it's not at the speed you want because that's inhumanely impossible. Most of these people are already working long hours - and it's not like this game is making money in its current state.

Microsoft is busy trying to move people away from Sony right now since the jump to a new gen is when most customer switch. not to mention now that they own Zenimax they own ESO so another MMO isnt likely to draw their attention unless they can get it into Gamepass or if Sony starts eyeing Pantheon, not liekly.

Yea we've seen it in a few gameplay streams but the Shaman has been the only class so far with a stream like this, and just like my last reply they've mentioned that the only two classes in a "Ready" state is the Shaman and Direlord with Rouge on the way.

Ah theres that buzzword everyone loves, but never uses right. They have a monthly live stream and a seperate recording with a dev. but unless you can play right now then its never good enough.

And all of those waiting paitently cause we're not Fortnite zoomers get tired of the same doom posts. and what makes you think that any developer builds up one zone 100% then moves on to the next.

And the line that pops up on ever public freakout video "I have rights, you cant do this to me!" you're not on any board or "team" if you cant enjoy the ride we're on then find a mobile game, they're perfect for the "I need it now and my money matters" group.

Mastery points reducing essence – If essence is a locked value, I can see this being an issue at higher levels. Considering in an expansion you may add more levels of mastery, what if essence cost was reduced to very low amount? Seems eventually that would be harder to balance for. If essence is not locked and you continue to gain a higher cap, reducing ability cost would seem to really OP your character even moreso (double down). I would think if essence cap increases as you gain levels, having ability cost also go up as you increase mastery would be easier to balance.
Also, regarding mastery points – it would be neat if you could choose which level of the spell/ability to use. Say you could right click on the ability icon and set it to the mastery level to cast as? I can see this coming into play if you ever do have to switch abilities to have an increasing cost, or if the player doesn’t want a certain effect of a mastery enhanced ability.
Higher level spent mastery abilities may need to have a minimal level requirement. The soft cap (based on required points) may not be enough.
Enemies seemed to be dying pretty fast considering you only had 4 people and only 1 DPS. Imagine if you were twinked?

It would be nice if you add a toggle to turn off the spell casting bars within the group window. As a healer I always try to keep an eye on health out of the corner of my eye if I have to look away. Having spell casting bars bouncing around is distracting when I would only expect to see a health bar bouncing around.
Do you still plan on having enemies that ‘death walk’ or try to escape when low on health, so that you need to use snare or root abilities to keep them from fleeing?

I dont think its been mentioned anywhere that max essence will grow with level, this acts pretty much as a rage type bar most other mmos use for their warrior types and should have a locked value.
That being said an epic ability or high tier equipment that can reserve, cause overflow or even just up the max would be a game changer for sure.
